The name comes from the saying “take it with a grain of salt”. Vendor pages promise a lot, so we check what is actually published, compare the details, and say plainly where a tool falls short.

Every article states how it was researched. A source-based guide compares published pricing, documentation and support pages, and does not claim to be a hands-on test. A hands-on review is based on our own use of the product, with the date and the plan we used. We never present research as testing. Read the details on How we test.
